ReactJS Basics – #2.5 Set up Git

  • 00:00:01 just a short in-between video because I
  • 00:00:04 was just a lot to do that and then
  • 00:00:05 recognize that this might be interesting
  • 00:00:07 for our people too I'm setting up get
  • 00:00:09 here now I created it with getting it of
  • 00:00:13 course me to have downloaded and
  • 00:00:14 installed get on your machine so dad
  • 00:00:17 sets up a git repository and then I
  • 00:00:19 created this git ignore file to tailgate
  • 00:00:21 which files I don't want to see on git
  • 00:00:24 and which files and folders are these
  • 00:00:27 its denote modules folder because this
  • 00:00:30 can be recreated with NPM install it
  • 00:00:33 then is the dist folder because that
  • 00:00:36 will be created by web pack
  • 00:00:37 automatically and it's in my case G dot
  • 00:00:40 idea folder which is just the hidden
  • 00:00:43 folder which holds my project
  • 00:00:45 configuration by my IDE it would also be
  • 00:00:48 the NPM debug – log file if you got this
  • 00:00:53 which is a file which gets created in
  • 00:00:55 case of any errors and with NPM and I
  • 00:00:59 don't want to use your version dead file
  • 00:01:00 – so these are the files I'm putting
  • 00:01:03 there and with all these files in place
  • 00:01:05 I will just well make my initial commit
  • 00:01:10 so add all files which are not ignored
  • 00:01:13 you might get repository and then commit
  • 00:01:15 them with the commit – em message which
  • 00:01:18 is my initial commit setup finished
  • 00:01:21 that's actually my master branch here
  • 00:01:24 but I will also create a new branch for
  • 00:01:27 this check it out where it will be
  • 00:01:30 called setup and this should then also
  • 00:01:34 hold the very same cold
  • 00:01:36 so with that I'll continue with the next
  • 00:01:39 video just wanted to share this with you
